The DPR authorities released 32 Ukrainian volunteers who were kidnapped in the vicinity of Mariupol at the end of March. Polina Murygina, head of the legal service of the Helping to Leave project, told Mediazone about this.
Prisoners of Yelenovka. What do we know about Ukrainian volunteers who have been held in a colony on the territory of the DPR since the end of March
Volunteers helped the residents of the destroyed Mariupol evacuate and delivered humanitarian aid to the city, and at the end of March they stopped communicating.
In early June, Mediazona found out that they were being held in a colony in the village of Yelenovka on the territory of the self-proclaimed DPR. They spent over 100 days there.
The relatives of the disappeared were completely unaware of their situation. “We really want to get at least officially recognized that the volunteers are there,” said lawyer Murygina.
Recently, the Helping to Leave Foundation became aware of new abducted volunteers who are still in Yelenovka.
