
MOSCOW, Jul 18 Nashville Predators Russian forward Yakov Trenin appealed to arbitration of the National Hockey League (NHL) over the salary offered to him, according to the league's website. Arbitration hearings on salary will be held from July 27 to August 11. Any player who has applied for arbitration may sign a contract with his current team until the hearing. Trenin is a restricted free agent. Last season, Trenin played 24 games in the regular season, in which he scored 24 points (17 goals + 7 assists). He also has three goals in four games in the Stanley Cup. Trenin was selected by Nashville in the second round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He moved overseas in 2014, but did not make his NHL regular debut until October 2019. In September 2020, he signed a new two-year contract with the Predators.
