According to the police, local schoolchildren who “decided to get the metal and earn money” were to blame for the oil spill. They unscrewed four valves from two tanks, handed them over to an illegal scrap metal collection point and received several hundred rubles.
“Before the employees of the enterprise discovered the fact of the fuel spill, about 120 tons of fuel managed to leak,” the police added. The investigation estimates the damage at 56 thousand rubles.
