MOSCOW, Jul 20 For NBA forward Charlotte Hornets» Miles Bridges was charged with three episodes of domestic violence, according to ESPN, citing Los Angeles County Attorney George Gascon. In June, the basketball player was arrested for beating his girlfriend in the presence of their two children and was later released on $130,000 bail . Gascon said prosecutors opened a criminal case for bodily harm to a girl and two criminal cases for child abuse under circumstances or conditions that could lead to serious bodily injury or death. The prosecutor noted that the children were present when the girl was allegedly attacked, but did not clarify what the allegations of abuse were based on. «Domestic violence creates physical, mental and emotional trauma that has a lasting impact. Children who witness domestic violence are especially vulnerable and the impact on them is immeasurable,» Gascon said. The NBA and Charlotte said they were looking into the basketball player's case. Bridges is due to appear in court Wednesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
