MOSCOW, Jul 20 Russia would be happy if part of the match between Russian grandmaster Jan Nepomniachtchi and Chinese Ding Liren took place in Russia, but the decision is up to the International Chess Federation (FIDE), said Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the President of Russia, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Russian Chess Federation. The current world champion Norwegian Magnus Carlsen refused to play the match for the title of champion peace with Nepomniachtchi. Now the Russian must hold a title fight with the Chinese Ding Liren, who became the second in the Candidates Tournament. President of the Russian Chess Federation Andrey Filatov, in an interview with expressed hope that at least part of the match for the world chess crown in 2023 will be held in Russia. «We would welcome it.
