Judge of the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow, Ksenia Panova, placed Vice-Rector of the RANEPA Ivan Fedotov under house arrest until August 7. This is reported by Interfax and RBC.
Fedotov is suspected of large-scale fraud (Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code). According to investigators, Fedotov is connected with the fictitious employment of employees in the academy: wages were accrued to the accounts of 12 «dead souls», but they did not do the work. The declared amount of damage is 21 million rubles.
A search in Fedotov's house took place on November 16, 2021. Sergei Zuev, rector of Shaninka, Marina Rakova, ex-Minister of Education, and Vladimir Mau, rector of the RANEPA, are also involved in the same fraud case. The latter was placed under house arrest on June 30. Zuev and Rakova are in jail.
