In May, Roskomnadzor conducted an unscheduled audit of the activities of Gemotest after two databases of more than 500 million orders from laboratory network customers were put up for sale on the darknet. Among the stolen 300 GB of information were personal data, including names, dates of birth, addresses, passport series and numbers, as well as test results.

Roskomnadzor confirmed the fact of the leak and drew up a protocol against Gemotest under the administrative article on violation of legislation in the field of personal data (part 1 of article 13.11 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

At the trial, the lawyers of the network of laboratories recognized the fact of a hacker attack, however, they asked to drop the case, since, in their opinion, the company was not at fault for the unloading.

The respondent, according to Yurapteka, has already appealed this decision to the Perovsky District Court of Moscow.
