Agapitov filed a lawsuit with CAS against the International Weightlifting Federation

Russians Alexander Kishkin and Dmitry Chernogorov ran for various IWF committees. The FTA filed an appeal against this decision with the CAS, which was granted. Russian candidates have been reinstated in their right to run for IWF governing bodies. The organization's elective congress was held in June in Tirana (Albania). Agapitov, who previously held a seat on the IWF executive committee, lost to competitors in each of the votes.
