MOSCOW, Jul 26 Two-time Stanley Cup winner Czech Dominik Hasek believes that the Czech government and parliament should pass a law banning athletes from playing in Russia. This reaction followed after the St. Petersburg club of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) SKA signed a contract with 29-year-old Czech striker Dmitry Yashkin. «I am very sorry. The work of a Czech citizen in the Russian Federation is support for Russia and special operations in Ukraine. Therefore, this is a danger to our country and its citizens. However, I do not blame the guy or his agent, but the government and the Czech parliament for not adopted a law prohibiting this,» the former goalkeeper wrote on Twitter. Yashkin was born in Omsk. In 1993, the family moved to live in the Czech Republic. In the KHL, the forward played in the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons as part of Dynamo Moscow. In total, he played 133 games in the league, in which he scored 137 points (77 goals and 60 assists), becoming the best sniper of the regular season.
