The Vesna Movement and the First Department human rights project reported that St. Petersburg investigators called at least four St. Petersburg residents asking them to testify against members of the opposition organization.
All Petersburgers who received a call from the investigative department for the Northwestern Federal District were detained at an anti-war rally on February 27th. They were offered to become witnesses in the case of the creation of an NPO that infringes on the rights of citizens (Article 239 of the Criminal Code).
According to Vesna, the investigators admitted that they were calling the protesters “according to the list”: “One of the protesters was even offered to show a “civil position”; and say that the movement «had fooled his head» calls to action».
