73-year-old activist Alexander Pravdin from the village of Seversky, Leningrad Region, was detained on charges of inciting hatred or enmity (Article 20.3.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) and tear gas was used in the police department. Pravdin himself told about this to Paper.
The activist and his wife were detained for a poster with the inscription «Russians, you are not people.» He claims that officers at the police station used tear gas when his wife, Gulya, was lying on the floor in handcuffs.

“I almost got poisoned, they all began to suffocate there. Probably, they don’t know how to use it, they used it for the first time,” says Pravdin.
The activist said that as a result of the actions of the police, his blood pressure increased. Pravdin was taken to the hospital, where he signed a receipt that he was leaving the medical facility on his own responsibility.
According to Paper, the activist's administrative case was to be considered today, July 27, at 2-3 pm in the Gatchina City Court of the Leningrad Region. However, according to Pravdin himself, the meeting was postponed “to another day.”
