MOSCOW, Jul 28 Czech striker Dmitry Yashkin said that he was not satisfied none of the proposals from the National Hockey League (NHL) clubs, after which he decided to sign a contract with St. Petersburg SKA. On Monday, SKA announced the signing of a contract with 29-year-old Yashkin. The agreement with the forward is designed for one season.
"I like the hockey that SKA shows — this is exactly the style of play that suits me. Plus a young and fighting squad. Petersburg has a very promising team, which has only one goal — the cup. We will strive for this, I am ready to achieve the highest goals together with the club", — Yashkin is quoted by the SKA official website.
«Negotiations went on for a long time, I was waiting for proposals from the NHL. «I didn't like it, and I decided to negotiate with SKA. I just have to visit the base, and I remember the wonderful atmosphere at the Ice Palace. St. Petersburg has always had very tense, difficult matches, so it will be much more pleasant to be «on the other side of the barricades» now,» added the hockey player.
