The fight in the first middleweight lasted all 12 rounds and ended with Garcia's victory by decision — 114-114, 116-112, 117-111. In professional boxing, Garcia won his 37th victory with three defeats. For Benavidez, this is the second defeat with 27 wins. In another fight of the evening, Ukrainian ex-middleweight title contender Sergei Derevyanchenko won a 10-round fight against US representative Joshua Conley by unanimous decision — 98-92, 98-92, 99- 91.
