
MOSCOW, Jul 30 Russian pilot Daniil Kvyat starts 36th in the debut race in the National Association of Stock Car Racing (NASCAR) as part of Team Hezeberg. In qualifying, the Russian showed the 36th result, driving a lap around the track in Indianapolis in 1 minute 31.942 seconds, which is 3.588 seconds slower than the best result of the session. In February, the International Automobile Federation (FIA) announced the cancellation of the Russian stage of Formula 1 against the backdrop of the situation in Ukraine and allowed Russian drivers to take part in the competition only in a neutral status. In March, Kvyat refused to sign the FIA declaration of commitment to the principles of peace and political neutrality. Kvyat is the most successful Russian driver in Formula 1 history. He has three podiums, one fastest lap and 202 points. The Russian was a Formula 1 driver from 2013 to 2017 and from 2019 to 2020. In the 2021 season, he was a reserve driver for the Alpin Renault team.
