Russian Formula 3 driver Smolyar wins Hungarian Grand Prix

MOSCOW, Jul 31 Russian driver of the MP Motorsport team Alexander Smolyar became the winner of the sixth stage of the Formula 3 championship — the Hungarian Grand Prix, which takes place on the Hungaroring track. For Smolyar, this is the first victory this season and the third in Formula 3. Second place went to Barbadian Trident rider Zane Maloney. The third was Briton Oliver Berman from the Prema team. In February, the International Automobile Federation (FIA) announced the cancellation of the Russian stage of Formula 1 against the backdrop of the situation in Ukraine and allowed Russian drivers to take part in competitions only in a neutral status. At the awards ceremony, instead of the Russian flag, a white flag was displayed over Smolyar. Also, the organizers did not include the Russian anthem or another song. Previously, Smolyar missed the British Grand Prix. The Russian pilot did not compete at the Silverstone track due to visa problems, he will be replaced by Romanian Philip Ugran. Smolyar is seventh in the drivers standings with 63 points. Frenchman Isak Hadjar from Hitech GP is leading (104 points).
