Robert ShilkovichSport correspondentAll materialsOne of the leading handball players of CSKA and the Russian national team, Dmitry Kiselev, was suspended from the competition for three months. According to the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA), cocaine was found in the doping test of the 27-year-old athlete. Kiselev's suspension became known on August 1. The disqualification of the athlete is valid from June 8 and will last until September 7. During this period, he will not be able to take part in competitions under the auspices of the Russian Handball Federation (FGR) and international tournaments. The RRF noted that a positive test was detected as a result of passing a doping control after the return semi-final match of the playoffs of the Russian Championship with the Perm Bears , which took place on May 14 in Moscow. According to the head of the RUSADA results processing department, Valeria German, Kiselev used a prohibited substance out of competition. «The sample was in-competition, however, the concentration of the substance found in the sample and the athlete's explanations indicate the use of this substance out of competition. Thus, RUSADA applied Article 12.2 .4 of the All-Russian Anti-Doping Rules,» Herman said. Article 12.2.4 of the All-Russian Anti-Doping Rules states that if a prohibited substance is used in the out-of-competition period and if it does not affect sports results, the athlete must be disqualified for three months.
