“No money”: Swedish newcomer “Dynamo” wished to terminate the contract with the club

MOSCOW, Aug 1 Dynamo said that he would not like to play in the Russian club, but could not find the necessary amount of money to buy out his contract. On Monday, it was announced that Lilya had moved to Dynamo Moscow from Kazakhstan's Barys. The agreement with the 29-year-old striker is for one season and is one-sided.

"I signed the contract back in February, before the start of all events. Then he made it clear that he would like to break the contract. And I had a chance. There were negotiations with a Swiss club that tried to buy me out. There were also negotiations with "Malmo" and "Linköping", but it didn't work out. And personally, I can not redeem the contract. I don't have that financial capacity. This is more money than I have. I have not spoken to the representatives of the club. All negotiations were conducted through an agent", the Swedish edition of Expressen quotes Lilya.

Lilya spent the past two seasons at Barys (Nur-Sultan). As part of the Kazakh team, the Swede played 117 matches in which he scored 66 points (39 goals and 27 assists). In the 2019/20 season, he played in the Columbus Blue Jackets system, he has 37 games and 5 points (2+3) in the National Hockey League (NHL).
