MOSCOW, Aug 2 Russian mixed martial artist (MMA) Sergey Pavlovich got up from 11th to fifth place in the heavyweight ranking of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), according to the promotion website. On Saturday, the Russian won a technical knockout of the American fighter Derrick Lewis at the UFC 277 tournament in Dallas. France's Francis Ngannou is the heavyweight champion of the organization. The first place in the ranking is occupied by another representative of France, Cyril Gan, followed by American Stipe Miocic, Australian Tai Tuivasa and American Curtis Blades. Another Russian fighter, Magomed Ankalaev, rose from fourth to third place in the light heavyweight division. He defeated American Anthony Smith by technical knockout. Earlier, the head of the league, Dana White, said that the winner of this confrontation will be the next contender for the UFC title, which is owned by Czech Jiri Prochazka.
