MOSCOW, Aug 2 Former head coach of the Moscow football club «Spartak» Paolo Vanoli is a candidate for the post of head coach of the Italian Palermo, according to tuttomercatoweb.com. Vanoli's candidacy was approved by Brian Marwood, the managing director of global football of the City Football Group holding, which owns a controlling stake in Palermo. Marwood and Vanoli know each other personally, the Briton previously attended the training of «Spartacus». Vanoli's rivals are former Pisa head coach Luca D'Angelo and former head coach of Palermo Eugenio Corini, whose last job was the Brescia club. Vanoli, 49, coached Spartak from the end of 2021 until the end of last season and became the owner of the Russian Cup with the team, in the Russian championship the «red-whites» took 10th place. Previously, Vanoli was an assistant in the Italian national team, the English «Chelsea» and the Italian «Inter».
