CHEBOKSARY, 2 Aug. Angelika Sidorova won the pole vault at the Russian Championships in Athletics, which takes place in Cheboksary.
She showed a result of 4.91 meters, setting a record for Russian championships. Sidorova beat the achievement set by two-time Olympic champion, current world record holder (5.06) Elena Isinbayeva (4.90 meters). In addition, Sidorova, who was not previously admitted to the World Championships, updated the best result of the season in the world, which also belonged to her (4.86).
Polina Knoroz (4.65) became the second in the competition, Elizaveta Bondarenko (4, 45).
Sidorova is 31 years old, she is the silver medalist of the Olympic Games in Tokyo, the world champion (2019) and Europe (2014), the two-time European indoor champion (2015, 2019).
