MOSCOW, Aug 8 Manchester Crown Court indicts ex-Wales coach Ryan Giggs for assaulting and injuring ex-girlfriend Kate Greville, AFP reports. Giggs was also charged with assaulting Greville's younger sister Emma, which happened on the same day. In addition, the former soccer player is accused of controlling and coercing Kate during a relationship that began in 2017 and ended in an alleged assault. Giggs' lawyer acknowledged that his client's behavior «was far from ideal», but argued that the ex-coach did not use violence against the girl. Giggs' trial began in Manchester on Monday. Kate Greville will appear in court on Tuesday. In November 2020, the media reported that Giggs was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a girl. Since then, the specialist has not managed the Wales national team, which he has led since 2018. In April 2021, the Crown Prosecution Service charged Giggs with assaulting two women. The former Manchester United football player stated in court that he did not plead guilty.
