Media: charges against the owner of «Edmonton» in relations with the 17-year-old withdrawn

MOSCOW, Aug 10 Accusations against National Hockey League (NHL) club owner Daryl Katz's Edmonton Oilers in a sexual relationship with an underage ballerina have been recalled, according to Sportsnet. Previously, a civil lawsuit was filed against Katz alleging that he paid ballerina Sage Humphreys $75,000 in exchange for her sexual favors. The statement was accompanied by screenshots of the correspondence allegedly between Humphreys and Katz. The documents noted that at the time of the relationship, Katz was 53 years old, and the ballerina was 17. The charges were dropped because Humphreys was not a minor at the time of the alleged interaction with Katz. The date of birth of October 3, 1997 is indicated in the rights of the ballerina, therefore, at the time of possible contact with the owner of Edmonton, she was 18 years old. Katz became a defendant in a case opened in 2021. Then seven ballerinas, including Humphreys, filed a sexual assault lawsuit against Mitchell's dance teacher Taylor Button and his wife Dusty Button. In response, the family filed a counterclaim claiming that the owner of the Edmonton had a relationship with a minor. The Buttons' attorney, Mark Randazza, has filed a motion to remove from the sexual assault counterclaim all references where Humphreys was identified as «underage» or «17-year-old.»
