Latvian parliament declared Russia a «state that supports terrorism,» the Saeima's press service said earlier on Thursday. «I think Russia will take retaliatory measures pointing Latvia to its place, and these measures will be painful for it,» Tsekov said. According to him, first of all, we can talk about economic measures, in particular, a ban on the transit of goods through the territory of Russia «Such a decision by the Latvian Seimas simply goes beyond all limits,» he added. Tsekov noted that Russia has a wide range of economic tools to make its response «painful.» “Riga should remember that all its anti-Russian and Russophobic decisions will come back to haunt it over time,” the parliamentarian said. According to him, Latvia itself can be recognized as a state sponsoring terrorism, since it supplies Ukraine with weapons that are used against the civilian population and prisoners of war. Latvia residents who have received Russian citizenship will not be given a residence permit, the Foreign Minister said
