MOSCOW, Aug 12 Current world javelin throw champion Anderson Peters of Grenada was beaten and thrown overboard during a quarrel with members of the crew of a sea vessel, the Guardian reports. The incident occurred on Wednesday in the harbor of Grenada. In the video released, Peters got into an altercation with several men, during which the athlete was punched and kicked and then thrown overboard. Peters recently returned to Grenada after winning silver at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, UK. Nothing is known about the health of the athlete at the moment. The cruise boat Harbor Master, on which the quarrel occurred, belongs to Trinidadian Adrian Skoon. It is noted that local residents complained several times to the owner of the vessel because of the parties taking place there. However, the Grenada authorities reported that the owner of the boat has all the necessary permits to operate. The police have launched an investigation. «The facts are still unknown, but those involved are currently assisting the police in the investigation. The Government of Grenada condemns violence of any kind and calls on all citizens and visitors to respect different points of view and to choose a reasonable approach in case of inappropriate human behavior» , the government of Grenada said in a statement.
