MOSCOW, Aug 15 Former World No. 1 Novak Djokovic in Serbia will take part in the final tournament of the Davis Cup in 2022, according to the website of the tournament. The team also included Miomir Kecmanovic, Filip Krajinovic, Laszlo Djere and Dusan Lajovic. The team captain will be Victor Troicki. The Serbs replaced the current winners of the Russian tournament in the Davis Cup, who were suspended from participation in the competition due to the situation in Ukraine. The Serbian team will play in Group B with the teams of Spain, South Korea and Canada. 19-year-old Carlos Alcaras, who has already won four tournaments this season, including two “Masters” in Miami and Madrid, got into the Spanish national team. Matches in this group will be held in Spanish Valencia. The group stage of the Davis Cup — 2022 will be held from 13 to 18 September. The playoffs of the tournament will be held from 21 to 27 November in Malaga, Spain. Earlier, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) suspended the membership of the federations of Russia and Belarus. Currently, Russian and Belarusian tennis players play in the individual category in all ATP, WTA and ITF tournaments, however, the Russian national teams are suspended from participation in the Davis Cup and the Billie Jean King Cup. Also, they were not allowed to grass tournaments in the UK and Wimbledon.
