MOSCOW, Aug 18 World Anti-Doping Agency Compliance Committee (CRC WADA) discussed the conditions for the restoration of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA), according to a release from the organization. CRC WADA meetings were held in a virtual format on August 11 and 12. The WADA Executive Committee will present the committee’s decisions on September 23. The committee also discussed WADA’s observations of RUSADA in light of the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), which at the end of 2020 eased sanctions against Russian sports, effectively reducing the sentence by half compared to WADA’s originally desired . In addition, the Committee considered the compliance procedure of the Anti-Doping Agency of Ukraine in connection with the current situation in the country. After a series of doping scandals around Russian sports, the WADA Executive Committee in December 2019 recognized RUSADA as not complying with the Anti-Doping Code and unanimously agreed with the recommendation of the Compliance Committee (CRC) to remove Russian athletes for four years from participation in major international competitions, including the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The general meeting of RUSADA members adopted the recommendations of the agency's supervisory board not to agree with the decision of the WADA executive committee. After receiving notification from RUSADA of disagreement with the decision of the executive committee, WADA applied to CAS.
