MOSCOW, Aug 21 President of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Luc Tardif promised keep the Russian and Belarus teams in the top division of the Ice Hockey World Championship. Earlier on Saturday, Tardif said that the IIHF has no plans to allow the Russian and Belarus national teams to international competition in the upcoming season. «We make a decision from season to season. We will be happy when Russia and Belarus return to international tournaments, but there is nothing we can do but keep their place at the highest level,» Tardif told TSN. The teams have already missed the 2022 World Cup in Finland. Later, the independent disciplinary board of the IIHF rejected the appeal of the Russian Hockey Federation (FHR) to remove the Russian national teams from participation in international competitions.
