MOSCOW, Aug 22 Former world No. 1 Yevgeny Kafelnikov after years of retirement the owner and president of the Spartak football club, Leonid Fedun, said from his post that he would again go to the home matches of the Moscow team. In 2015, Kafelnikov said that he would not go to Spartak's home games while Fedun was the owner of the club. On Monday, Lukoil announced the acquisition of 100% of the club's shares, Fedun resigned as president, member and chairman of the board of directors. «Now with a clear conscience I will go to the next home match,» Kafelnikov wrote on Twitter. Spartak will play on September 4th. The rival of the «red-whites» will be the current champion of the country, St. Petersburg «Zenith», leading in the standings. Fedun acquired a controlling stake in «Spartak» in 2004. With him, the Red-Whites won the 2016/2017 Russian Championship, the 2017 Russian Super Cup, and the Russian Cup, defeating Dynamo Moscow in the final on May 29, 2022.
