MOSCOW, Aug 23 Eight-time Olympic champion Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt applied for trademarking the pose in which he celebrated victories in competitions. According to the US Patent and Trademark Office, Bolt filed a corresponding application on August 17. After victories, the Jamaican leaned back, straightened his left arm, bent his right at the elbow, and pointed to the sky with his fingers. The trademark is a black silhouette of this pose on a white background. Bolt intends to use the image on clothing, footwear and jewelry, as well as in restaurants and sports bars.» The silhouette of his victory pose will be recognized all over the world. Registering a trademark will allow him to offer the goods listed in the application himself or license the right to use the trademark third parties,» trademark specialist Josh Gerben told the BBC.
