MOSCOW, Aug 25 German Bayern and Spanish Barcelona will play in quartet C at the group stage of the Champions League season 2022/23. Italian Inter and Czech Viktoria (Plzen) also became members of group C. The Champions League group stage draw took place on Thursday in Istanbul. The group stage matches, which have been shortened to eight weeks due to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, will be played on September 6-7, September 13-14, October 4-5, October 11-12 , October 25-26 and November 1-2. Two best teams from each group will advance to the 1/8 finals of the playoffs. The teams that take third place will continue to play in the Europa League, where they will compete for tickets to the 1/8 finals of the tournament with teams that have become second in their groups. Russian teams are suspended from participating in European competitions by decision of the Union of European Football Associations.
