The Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow fined Anna Shatunovskaya-Byurno, a candidate for municipal deputies in the Yakimanka district, two thousand rubles. This was reported by SOTA.
Shatunovskaya-Byurno was found guilty under the protocol on the distribution of extremist symbols (part 1 of Article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). She spent the night before the court session at the police station.
The reason for drawing up the protocol was the publication on Facebook with the call of Archpriest Alexei Uminsky for mercy towards the politician Alexei Navalny. The post included the letter «H» — the symbol of the opposition. The entry was published before the recognition of Navalny's structures as extremist, and then deleted. Despite this, an employee of Detsky Mir complained about it, who had a notarized screenshot of the post. publish-context-cite__image» alt=»1″ />«I'm out, I was attacked by staff.» In Moscow, three candidates for the Mundeps were summoned to the TEC, where they were detained and convicted for «extremist» symbols
In addition, today the Khamovniki District Court of Moscow imposed a fine of 1,500 rubles on the municipal deputy and acting head of the Khamovniki district, Tatyana Kasimova, under the same article, writes OVD-Info.
Also, under the article on the demonstration of extremist symbols, the candidate for municipal deputies of the Tverskoy district of Moscow, Maria Volokh, who was withdrawn from the elections, was fined 2,000 rubles, and the candidate for the Khamovniki district, Nikolai Kasyan, was arrested under the same protocol for five days.
The punishment under Article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, which has entered into force, prohibits participation in any elections during the year. These rules were introduced in June 2021, a few days before the court recognized the FBK and Navalny’s headquarters as “extremist” organizations and banned them in Russia.
Since the end of June, dozens of independent candidates for deputies have been denied registration or withdrawn from the elections in Moscow. Most often, the reason for this was «involvement in the activities of extremist organizations» due to posts mentioning Navalny's projects.
