The Meshchansky District Court of Moscow sent Dmitry Blinov to a pre-trial detention center in the case of illegally obtaining information related to state secrets. This was reported to TASS in the press service of the court.
Blinov was charged under paragraph «a» of part 2 of article 283.1 of the Criminal Code, the punishment for it provides for up to eight years in prison. TASS clarified that Blinov is the second person involved in the case, in which photographer Svetlana Timofeeva, known under the pseudonym Lana Sator, was previously arrested in absentia. She runs an Instagram about abandoned buildings, bomb shelters and military installations.
Dmitry Blinov is an employee of Bonduelle-Kuban, a law enforcement source told the agency. This company, in addition to growing grain crops and vegetables, is engaged in «activities in the field of the use of pathogens of human and animal infectious diseases and genetically modified organisms <…>, as well as the operation of explosive and chemically hazardous production facilities.»
Last week, Svetlana Timofeeva, along with photographer Mikhail Zorin and Ukrainian citizen Fedor Alpatov, were detained near an abandoned military factory in Albania. On August 24, the court ruled to keep them in custody until the end of the investigation into the case of dissemination of secret military information and illegal possession of weapons. All three face jail terms under 20.
