
MOSCOW, Aug 30 Pittsburgh Penguins extend head coach Mike's contract Sullivan for three years, according to the website of the National Hockey League (NHL) club. The new agreement will enter into force at the end of the 2023/24 season. «Mike is one of the best coaches in the National Hockey League, and it was important for us that he signed a long-term contract. He is a great leader who succeeds through communication, honesty and responsibility. We know that Sully is committed to maintaining the culture of winning here in Pittsburgh,» said general manager Ron Hextall. Sullivan took over as Pittsburgh captain in 2015. Under his leadership, the club won two Stanley Cups and scored 297 wins in 507 matches. Sullivan is the fourth American coach in NHL history to have over 300 wins in his career.
