ENERGODAR, August 31 Russian military shot down a Ukrainian drone near the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, RIA Novosti correspondent reported .Fragments of the drone fell next to the road at the entrance to the station. According to RIA Novosti, Russian security officials who arrived at the scene, presumably, this is a Polish-made Warmate drone. Last night, Ukrainian paramilitary forces launched more than 60 artillery strikes on Energodar, including on the city administration. There were no casualties. Earlier, the IAEA mission moved from Kyiv towards the ZNPP. The delegation consists of «approximately one and a half dozen employees of the IAEA secretariat involved in nuclear safety.» On the way to the facility, they are accompanied by a team of UN representatives. the projectile pierced the roof of the ZNPP building, where the fuel is stored. At the same time, the UN said they did not know who was attacking the nuclear power plant. In turn, the representative of the Pentagon did not rule out that it was the Ukrainian troops who fired, but called it return fire. The Zaporozhye nuclear power plant is located on the left bank of the Dnieper, next to Energodar. This is the largest in terms of the number of units and the most powerful nuclear power plant in Europe. Since March, the station has been guarded by the Russian military. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, this is necessary to prevent the leakage of nuclear and radioactive materials. The Ukrainian military continues to regularly shell Energodar, the surrounding villages and the territory of the Zaporizhia NPP adjacent to the city.
