In St. Petersburg, the magistrate of court district No. 203 sentenced activist Pavel Ivankin for picketing with a poster «Garbage is worse than shit,» a Paper correspondent reports from the courtroom.
Ivankin was assigned six months of corrective labor with a deduction of 10% of his salary. He was found guilty under Article 319 of the Criminal Code (insulting a government official).

As noted by Paper , the linguistic expertise of the Center for Expertise of St Petersburg University has established that it is rubbish» — this is offensive jargon, which is used to refer to employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. And their comparison with shit reinforces the negative assessment, the experts decided.
The case against Ivankin was opened at the beginning of 2021 — on January 19, he went to the Gostiny Dvor with a poster «Garbage is worse than shit.» On January 23, before a rally in support of Alexei Navalny, the activist was searched. Ivankin himself, writes Paper, said that his picket was a protest against the mass detentions of Navalny's supporters at rallies. The police officers, in his opinion, behaved “unmanly” during the dispersal of the action.
