
MOSCOW, Sep 2 British Mercedes driver George Russell became the best in the first session of the training races of the Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix. Russell completed the best lap at the circuit in Zandvoort in 1 minute 12.455 seconds. The second time was shown by his partner, the seven-time Formula 1 champion Briton Lewis Hamilton (+0.240 seconds). Third was Ferrari's Carlos Sainz of Spain (+0.390). Practice was interrupted by red flags due to a stoppage by reigning Dutch Red Bull champion Max Verstappen, who suffered mechanical problems in his gearbox. A second free practice will take place later on Friday .
