File photo UN, Sep 3 Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya asked UN Secretary General António Guterres to encourage the United States to issue visas to the Russian delegation to participate in the high-level week of the UN General Assembly session, according to a letter that RIA managed to get acquainted with News. The UNGA high-level week will be held from 20 to 26 September and involves the full-time participation of all delegations. The Russian delegation is headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov. In the letter, Nebenzya writes that none of the delegation received US visas as of September 1. «We ask you to once again indicate to the US authorities that they must promptly issue the requested visas to all Russian delegates and accompanying persons, including Russian journalists, who must stop in New York to cover the visit of our foreign minister,» writes Nebenzya. He notes that the necessary applications have been submitted to the US Embassy in Moscow.
