Anastasia PaninaSport correspondentAll materialsArtur Dmitriev is the son of two-time Olympic champion in pair skating Artur Dmitriev Sr. and a very unusual figure skater with his own special path in sports. He is turning thirty the other day, he has long been living an adult life, has created a family, has been working since the age of 18, but at the same time he is in no hurry to end his career. Arthur trained for several years the most difficult jump — the quadruple axel, and even tried to perform it in competitions. And also due to the fact that he was born and lived with his parents in the United States as a child, Dmitriev has American citizenship. Last season, it monetized itself — the skater was offered to play for the United States, and after a three-year pause in his career, he agreed. This was preceded by a harsh Chelyabinsk preparation — Arthur had only a couple of months of time before the national championship of America, he and his wife acted as a coach, and first it was necessary to speak at the qualifying competitions. Artur Dmitriev spoke about his condition now and plans for the near future in an interview with Sport. — How are things going with your plans to play for America? Are they still valid?—I can say one thing about my sports career: I took a break for an indefinite period. I keep myself in shape both technically and physically, I support it. As far as sports are concerned, that's all I can say.—And if it's not a secret, what is the reason for such a decision — to take a break? Are there any health problems or purely organizational issues?— Everything is fine with health. There was one moment that I twisted my leg, but it's not so serious. The reason is more because… I just decided to take a year off. Take a break from everything. Especially now the situation in the world is unstable. I just took a break to understand what will happen next.
