MOSCOW, Sep 7 Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov reached the semi-finals of the US Open (US Open), the final Grand Slam tournament of the season, held on hard courts in New York. Khachanov, seeded under the 27th number, beat Australian Nick Kiryos (23rd seed) with a score of 7: 5, 4:6, 7:5, 6:7 (3:7), 6:4. Tennis players spent 3 hours 39 minutes on the court. The score in personal meetings was 2-1 in favor of the Russian. During the match, Khachanov filed 30 times right through, actively won 63 goals, made three double faults and 31 unforced ones. The Australian has 31 aces, 75 winners, five double faults and 58 non-forced ones. In the semi-finals of the tournament, Khachanov will play with Norway's Kasper Ruud, who had previously beaten Italian Matteo Berrettini in the quarter-finals. In the fourth round of the US Open, Kiryos defeated the world No. 1, current tournament winner Daniil Medvedev. 26-year-old Khachanov will play in the Grand Slam semi-finals for the first time.
