MOSCOW, Sep 8 World number one Polish tennis player Iga Swiatek reached the semifinals US Open, the final Grand Slam tournament of the season, held on hard courts in New York. In the 1/4 final match, she defeated American Jessica Pegula (eighth seed) with a score of 6:3, 7: 6 (7:4). The duration of the match was 1 hour 53 minutes. For reaching the final, Swiatek will compete with the Belarusian tennis player Arina Sobolenko (sixth seed). The other semi-final will feature France's Caroline Garcia (17) and Tunisia's Ons Jaber (5). She became the first Polish tennis player to reach the semi-finals of a Grand Slam tournament in New York. Swiatek won the Roland Garros twice.
