In Novorossiysk, a 50-year-old former military man, activist and author of the Wild Paratrooper YouTube channel, Askhabali Alibekov, was prosecuted for repeated “discrediting” of the Russian army. This was reported to Kavkaz.Realiyam by his wife Patimat.
According to her, the security forces came to their home on September 6, and the operational activities were carried out by FSB officers. Alibekov was detained and kept in custody pending a preventive measure. As a result, the court gave him a written undertaking not to leave, and also banned him from using the Internet and attending mass events.
“A criminal case was initiated because of the videos on the Internet. He has already been fined twice because of them, and since the offense was committed repeatedly during the year, a criminal case was opened,” Patimat Alibekova specified. Under article 280.3 of the Criminal Code, the blogger faces a fine of 300,000 to a million rubles or up to five years in prison. -context-cite__image» alt=»1″ />The Life and Adventures of a Wild Marine . The Oktyabrsky District Court of Novorossiysk fined Alibekov 50,000 rubles under the protocol on the “dicreditation” of the army in July (Part 1 of Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). Prior to that, in March, the Primorsky District Court fined him 30,000 rubles under the same article because of a video where a former military man calls for stopping the war in Ukraine and not killing civilians, and also asks “not to send children to fight.”
Alibekov participated in the Second Chechen War, served in the landing unit of the Airborne Forces in Stavropol and intelligence of the navy in Novorossiysk. In 2017, Alibekov moved to Crimea for several months, after which a criminal case was brought against him for abuse of power with the use of violence (clause “a” of part 3 of article 286 of the Criminal Code), according to which the paratrooper was replaced with a real term for a suspended sentence.
Alibekov gained notoriety in February 2018, when, once again settling to serve under a contract in Novorossiysk, he wrote down an appeal to Vladimir Putin, in which he accused him of hiding data on the number of Russians who died during the conflict in Ukraine and asked the president «leave Russia alone.»
