MOSCOW, September 9 Mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Khamzat Chimaev failed to make weight on the first attempt ahead of the fight against American Nate Diaz in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The Swedish fighter of Chechen origin did not meet the limit welterweight (77.56 kg) and showed on the scales almost 81 kilograms. Now the athlete has an hour to shed the remaining pounds. Chimaev and Diaz are due to meet on September 10 in Las Vegas as part of the UFC 279 tournament. For the 37-year-old Diaz, the fight should be the last under the contract with the UFC.
