MOSCOW, September 11 Mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Khamzat Chimaev said that the American Nate Diaz should be grateful to God for the cancellation of their fight at the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) tournament. Chimaev was supposed to meet Diaz on Saturday at the UFC 279 tournament in Las Vegas (USA), but failed the weigh-in. The undefeated Swede of Chechen origin missed the welterweight division limit (77.56 kg), showing almost 81 kg on the scales. As a result, Diaz in the main fight of the tournament met with American Tony Ferguson, whom he defeated by choke in the fourth round, after which he announced his retirement from the UFC. Chimaev was stronger than American Kevin Holland in the co-main bout, winning in the first round by choke.
