MOSCOW, September 12 French chess player Alireza Firouzja won the last in St. Louis (USA) the last stage of the Grand Chess Tour and became the winner of the entire tournament. On the final day, Firouzja drew with black pieces against Maxime Vachier-Legrave (France), while Russian Ian Nepomniachtchi played a draw with white pieces against Hans Niemann (USA). Following the results of 9 rounds, Firouzja and Nepomniachtchi became the best, scoring an equal number of points, and the fate of the stage was decided in a tie-break: in the first game they played in a draw, in the second, Firouzja won. According to the results of the entire tournament, Firouzja scored 36.5 points and earned more than 272 one thousand dollars. Second place in the tournament was taken by US representative Wesley So (30 points, over $190,000 in prize money), Vachier-Lagrave rounded out the top three (29 points, over $165,000 in prize money). Nepomniachtchi earned over $127,000 in the tournament, sharing 4-5th places with US representative Levon Aronian (27 points each).
