Italy. File photoROME, Sep 15 An insurance company in Italy denied payments to a Belarussian family based on sanctions over the conflict in Ukraine after tourists turned to a lawyer because their child was injured in one of the hotels in the city of Pesaro. As reported by the newspaper il Resto del Carlino, the daughter of Belarusian tourists received a cut on her forehead, slipping in the courtyard of the hotel during the game. The girl's age is not given in the note. After she received medical attention, her family believed that the hotel itself was responsible for the incident. They contacted a lawyer to obtain compensation from the company that insured the hotel against accidents and similar incidents. Insurers, in turn, refused to pay tourists, explaining their decision by their citizenship and sanctions in connection with the conflict in Ukraine. The lawyer of the family, Laura Biondi, as il Resto del Carlino notes, cited the response of the insurance company on the social network. «After the restrictive measures were taken in against Russia, concerning actions that violate or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, all payments transactions involving individuals or legal entities with a place of residence, citizenship, registered office in Russia or Belarus have been suspended,» the company said. The lawyer, as noted, is going to take legal action in response.
