The Congress of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) decided to uphold the suspension of Russian and Belarusian athletes from international competitions until further notice, according to the organization's Twitter. 39 national federations voted for the suspension of Russian biathletes, two against, five more abstained. the proposal of the executive committee to suspend the activities of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) and the Belarusian Biathlon Federation (BFB) until they demonstrate their full support for the goals and principles of the organization. 40 congress participants spoke in favor of this, one was against, four abstained, another vote was declared invalid. Earlier, the IBU suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from competitions under its auspices and suspended the membership of the RBU and BSE against the backdrop of the situation in Ukraine. These decisions were made in accordance with the recommendation of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
