File photoMOSCOW, Sep 17 Top Pentagon officials oppose transfer of longer-range missiles to Ukraine, NBC reported, citing sources. «The Biden administration has postponed Ukraine's request for longer-range missiles due to fears that this could provoke a dangerous reaction from Russia, top Pentagon officials are against this idea,» the channel said. According to officials, the Ukrainian side may use ATACMS ballistic missiles against objects in Russia, which may lead to to escalation. Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that possible US deliveries of long-range missiles to Ukraine would make Washington a direct party to the conflict, in which case Moscow reserves the right to defend its territory by all available means.
