File photoWASHINGTON, Sep 19 US President Joe Biden said Russia will not be able to change US policy towards Ukraine with energy. «We are in much better shape in the US than anyone else, especially Russia, but he (Russian President Vladimir Putin) has been trying to achieve this for some time. He will not succeed,» Biden said in an interview with CBS. The head of state also noted that American support for Ukraine will continue as long as there is a need for it «The price paid by the Ukrainian people for this war is extremely high, but we will be with them as long as they need our help,» he said in an interview with CNN. When asked how far he is ready to go in supporting Ukraine, Biden replied: «As long as it takes.» Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine on February 24th. Russian President Vladimir Putin called its goal «the protection of people who have been subjected to genocide by the Kyiv regime for eight years.» The main goal in the Russian military department was called the liberation of Donbass. Russia had previously sent a note to NATO countries because of the supply of weapons to Ukraine. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any cargo that contains weapons for Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia. The Foreign Ministry stated that the NATO countries are «playing with fire» by supplying weapons to Ukraine. Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that pumping Ukraine with weapons from the West does not contribute to the success of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and will have a negative effect.
