MOSCOW, Sep 20 English Premier League football clubs consider reforms National Cup and League Cup, according to the Daily Mail, citing The Times. A possible reform of the FA Cup is to refuse to hold re-matches in the third and fourth rounds, which will need to be agreed with the Football Association of England (FA). As for the League Cup, it is being considered the option that clubs playing in European competition will be able to not take part in it, or they will be allowed to field squads of players under 21 years old. Issues will be discussed at the meeting of shareholders of the English Premier League on Wednesday. It is noted that the Premier League hopes to reduce the number of matches for teams, but the league will not require the complete abolition of the League Cup or the holding of all FA Cup games in the middle of the week. If the changes are agreed, they will not enter into force until the 2024/25 season.
