The amount of payments was approved at a meeting of the KHL Board of Directors on Tuesday. In total, according to the results of the 2021/22 season, 448,295,438 rubles were distributed between the clubs. with VAT, which is the third largest payment in eight years. In the 2020/21 season, the KHL paid the clubs 505.3 million rubles. In the 2021/22 season, the basis for the formation of payments is income from the sale of TV and betting rights (240.8 million rubles), as well as targeted funding for Russian youth clubs KHL (207.5 million rubles). This season, the KHL has sold television and betting rights to 23 broadcasting countries, including Russia. The distribution of TV and commercial rights income between clubs has remained unchanged compared to the 2020/21 season. The principles of participation in the championship (30%) and the principle of teledemand (40%) have the highest weight in the distribution. The income distribution structure by sports principle (30%) is as follows: 15% to playoff participants; 7.5% to the playoff winner; 4.5% to the participants of the championship; 3% to the finalist of the Gagarin Cup. Metallurg Magnitogorsk (29,168,946 rubles) will receive the largest amount of remuneration following the championship (29,168,946 rubles), where 6,315,775 rubles were received due to the highest demand in the KHL for TV rights for matches. For the victory in the Gagarin Cup, CSKA Moscow will receive 15,398,896 rubles, and in total — 26,216,290 rubles, while the army team refused targeted funding for children's and youth sports.
